CMR
The CMR is a consignment note that accompanies the cargo and proves its delivery to the final destination. It can also be defined as a tripartite contract between the sender, the carrier, and the consignee. The greatest responsibility lies with the carrier, who is accountable for the integrity of the cargo from the moment of acceptance until delivery.
The CMR consists of seven parts and is issued in three copies, which are signed and stamped by the sender, the carrier, and the consignee.
The first copy is given to the sender.
The second accompanies the goods.
The third remains with the carrier.
- Part 1: Printed in red and handed to the sender.
- Part 2: Printed in blue and handed to the consignee.
- Part 3: Printed in green and retained by the carrier.
- Parts 4–7: Printed in black and used for reference purposes.
