Transport of ADR goods or so-called “dangerous goods”
Dangerous Goods (ADR) are materials or items with hazardous properties that pose a potential risk to human health and safety, infrastructure, and/or means of transport.
The transport of dangerous goods is regulated and managed by various regulatory regimes operating both nationally and internationally. Together, these regulatory frameworks establish the means by which dangerous goods must be transported.
Next Logistic holds all the necessary certificates, trained drivers, and specially adapted vehicles to successfully carry out shipments of all types of ADR goods.
The regulatory frameworks include complex hazard classification systems to provide a taxonomy of dangerous goods. Dangerous goods are classified into nine classes, according to their type and inherent risks:
- Class 1 – Explosives
- Class 2 – Gases
- Class 3 – Flammable liquids
- Class 4 – Flammable solids
- Class 5 – Oxidizing substances
- Class 6 – Toxic substances
- Class 7 – Radioactive materials
- Class 8 – Corrosive substances
- Class 9 – Miscellaneous, which include dry ice, lithium-ion batteries, magnetized materials, first-aid equipment, life-saving appliances, etc.
In addition to the class, each dangerous good is identified by a UN number.
