Platforms are specialized transport vehicles designed for carrying oversized and heavy loads that cannot be transported with standard trailers. They are widely used for moving industrial equipment, construction machinery, steel structures, silos, tanks, transformers, and other bulky or heavy cargo with non-standard dimensions and shapes.
Oversized platforms enable the safe and efficient transportation of such loads both within Bulgaria and internationally – including across the European Union. This requires detailed route planning, coordination with road and border authorities, and, when necessary, a police escort.
Technical parameters of the platform:
- Length: the platform can be extended up to 16.8 meters, allowing the transport of elongated cargo.
- Width: extendable up to 3.5 meters, suitable for bulky loads that require a larger loading area.
- Maximum permissible weight: up to 65,000 kilograms, enabling the transportation of heavy machinery and equipment.
Platforms are equipped with appropriate load securing and stabilizing systems, ensuring reliable fixation during transportation. Depending on the cargo specifications, different platform types can be used – low-bed, telescopic, or hydraulically adjustable.
The transportation of oversized cargo is carried out under a special regulatory regime, requiring all necessary documents, permits, and certificates. Competent carriers ensure full legality and compliance with both national and European regulations. This includes route planning, time restrictions, markings, and mandatory escort services for specific loads.
Oversized transport using platforms is crucial for industries such as energy, construction, and mechanical engineering, where precision, safety, and efficient logistics are essential for successful project execution.
